Product Description

Ferris Wheel is Tactow's most approachable build, a tabletop version of the childhood classic, engineered down to the last tooth of every gear. Switch on the motor and the wheel turns steadily on its central axle, gondolas swinging freely with gravity.

Every part is laser-cut from responsibly sourced wood and slots together using interlocking joinery. No glue, no tools, no shortcuts. A great introduction to mechanical puzzles, and a ready-to-gift showpiece once complete.

The motor and battery case are in the box. Batteries are not included.

Premium quality product

Premium quality product, it was fun to assemble the wheel piece by piece. The cuttings for the swings was not proper which is why they were falling off, other than that everything was superb. Overall a great experience!

One panel does not line up exactly with the cut

Looks fantastic finished and one of the printed panels does not line up exactly with the cut on mine, which is minor but visible from the front where it matters most. Everything structural was fine and the mechanism runs properly. If print registration is a known tolerance issue it would be worth tightening, because on a display piece the eye goes straight to it.

its good easy to build

its good easy to build, it would be better if you gave more clarity when joining the two wheels to make the ferris wheel, and some more clarity on building the gear box after so many tries I understand that those two large plates are used to cover the gear box assembly, and there was no guide for the screws to fix the gears between pannel, I used my own approach to do that nice challenge

Thank you for the feedback Akshay. WIll surely incorporate them

Say clearly on the listing that batteries are not included

Lovely product and I am docking a star for the listing rather than the kit. Please say clearly and near the top that batteries are not included, because the motor and the case are in the box and it reads as though you are ready to go. I finished the build on a Sunday evening and then had to go out at nine at night hunting for cells, which took the shine off the moment slightly.

Runs slower than it looks in the videos

Runs slower than I expected from the product videos, which appear to be sped up or at least shot flatteringly. It is pleasant to watch at its real pace and it did not disappoint me once I adjusted, but manage expectations on the listing. Build quality itself is good, nothing broke, nothing was missing, and it has been reliable for a month.

Gifted it to my wife and had to buy a second for myself

Gifted it to my wife for our anniversary and then discovered I was not allowed to touch it, which was not the plan. She did the entire thing over two evenings while I was relegated to handing her pieces. I ended up ordering a second one for myself the following week. The motor runs quietly enough that she leaves it going while reading, which tells you something about the build quality.

Bought it for myself and it earned its shelf

Bought it for myself after a brutal quarter at work, with no intention of it being more than a distraction. Instead it became the only hour of my day with no phone and no notifications in it, just slots and pegs and one very patient battery case. It is about a foot wide and sits on my bookshelf now, and every single guest who walks in asks what it is and then asks me to switch it on.

Works well, louder than your videos suggest

Works well and the motor is noticeably louder than it is in your videos, so do not expect the near silence the product films suggest. It is a hum rather than a grind and it has not got worse over three weeks. Not a dealbreaker and I would still buy it again, but I would have liked to know before gifting a second one to somebody who works in the same room as their shelf.

Quiet enough to leave running while I read

Good entry point into the range and I would start anybody here rather than on one of the big builds. Clean cuts, nothing splintered on punch out, and the motor is quiet enough that I leave it turning while I read in the same room. Thirty centimetres or so across, so it actually fills a shelf rather than disappearing on it. Remember to buy cells before you start or you will be doing what I did at nine in the evening.

Budget ten minutes for sanding and a cloth for the dust

There is a fair amount of fine dust and a few rough edges that want sanding, so keep a cloth and a bit of paper handy before you start rather than halfway through like I did. None of it is a defect, it is just wood, but a line in the manual would set expectations. The mechanism itself runs beautifully and the wheel is true with no wobble at all.

The first time it turned was an event in our house

Worth every rupee. I was so impatient to see it move that I pulled the batteries out of my TV remote, watched it turn, and then went out and bought proper cells the same evening. Do know going in that batteries are yours to supply, the case and motor are in the box but the cells are not. The first time it actually turned was a small event in our house and my mother made everyone come and look.

Built it with my father who is 70 and he has claimed it

Built it with my father, who is seventy and has not done anything like this since he had a workshop of his own. He took over somewhere around the spoke assembly and I was demoted to sorting pieces. He has now claimed it permanently and it lives in his room. Whatever else this product does, it bought me nine or ten evenings with my father, so I am not going to quibble about anything.

Reached Assam in five days undamaged, which is its own achievement

Reached Assam in five days completely undamaged, which going by the shipping complaints on this page is its own achievement. The build was lovely and unhurried across three evenings and the motor started first time. Only note is to have cells ready before you open the box, because the moment it is finished you will want to see it turn and there is nothing worse than stopping there.

Bought three as Diwali gifts for my team

Bought three of these as Diwali gifts for my team instead of the usual dry fruit box, and it was the best gifting decision I have made in years. Two of them have already sent me videos of their finished builds running, and one has apparently got his father involved. It helps that this is the recognisable one in your range, so nobody opens the box confused about what they are looking at.

Switched it on and the whole flat stopped what it was doing

Switched it on for the first time and all three of my flatmates stopped what they were doing and came over, which is the simplest possible endorsement. It is a clean, well made, unfussy build and it looks good finished. Took me two evenings. The motor is audible but not intrusive. Simple pleasure, properly executed.

Spent a rainy afternoon on this instead of scrolling

Spent a rainy Saturday afternoon on this instead of scrolling, and that trade alone justified the purchase. It is a straightforward build with a real payoff at the end, which is the right combination for a weekend. The wheel turns smoothly and the whole thing is sturdier assembled than the individual parts feel in your hand. Batteries are on you, buy them first.

Slow to reach Sikkim and worth the wait

Shipping to Sikkim took a while, as everything does, and it arrived intact which is what matters. Lovely little machine, straightforward to put together, and sturdier than I expected once assembled. The wheel runs true with no wobble. Buy cells locally before it lands so you are not hunting for them at the end.

Budget an adult for two of the steps if a teen is building

Gifted it to my nephew, who is fourteen, and he needed help at two points, so budget an adult for a couple of the steps if a teenager is building it alone. Once past those he did the rest himself over a weekend and was visibly proud of it. He loved the finished thing. Worth grading the difficulty more clearly on the listing so gift buyers can pick properly.

Gifted to my husband who never asks for anything

Gifted to my husband, who never asks for anything and is consequently impossible to buy for, and he has not stopped talking about it. He spread it across the dining table for four days, which I allowed. It runs every evening now. If you are shopping for a partner rather than a child this is the right end of the range to look at.

Nothing damaged, every part present, still running a month later

Packaging was genuinely solid, the sheets arrived flat and undamaged, and every single part was accounted for when I counted them out against the manifest. Three nights of work at a comfortable pace. It has been running a month now with no sign of anything loosening or peeling, which going by some of the other reviews here I appear to have been lucky about. No complaints at all.

Fun Build, But Functional Issues

This was a fun and visually impressive puzzle to build. The final structure looks great and the concept is unique.
That said, the battery wire snapped during setup and the solar feature didn’t work. We tried troubleshooting by connecting wires directly to a battery, but the wheel still wouldn’t run. It felt like something in the mechanism was too tight.
A few pieces also broke during assembly because they’re quite delicate.

Neha Dhingra
More time hunting for pieces than fitting them

The parts could be labelled far better on the sheets. I spent more of the evening hunting for the right piece across five sheets than I did actually fitting anything, and the numbers that are there do not always match the order you need them in. The build itself is great, the wheel runs true, the finish is good. Fix the sheet labelling and this is a five.

My son's new favourite hobby

Bought this for my 16-year-old who was spending way too much time gaming. He finished it in a day and immediately asked for another one. The fact that it actually moves after building is what got him excited. It's now displayed in his room like a trophy. Thank you Kenzai for making something that pulls kids away from screens.

Wish there were more puzzles like this

Completed it in one sitting — about 4.5 hours. Very meditative experience. The Ferris Wheel is now sitting on my study table and I catch myself turning the crank between meetings. Only wish: would love a slightly harder version or an expansion set. Already looking at the other models.

Better than I expected from the ad

The Instagram ad caught my eye but I was skeptical about the quality. Pleasantly surprised. The wood feels solid, the laser cutting is precise, and the final product actually works as shown. My wife and I built it together on a rainy Sunday — one of our best dates in a while honestly.

Lovely puzzle, minor fitting issues

The design is brilliant and my daughter (14) built most of it herself which I loved. A couple of the gondola pieces didn't slot in perfectly and needed a bit of sanding. The rotating mechanism works well though. Would definitely recommend for teens — it's educational and fun.

Bought 3 as corporate gifts

I run a small startup and wanted unique gifts for my co-founders. These were a hit. All three of them sent me photos of their completed builds. Much better than the usual gift cards or branded merch. The packaging is also neat and presentable. Will order again for our next milestone.
